Health notice

Gymyos helps you log and follow your workouts, but it is not a medical service. Read this notice before training with what you see in the app.
1. Gymyos does not give medical advice
Nothing Gymyos shows is a diagnosis, a treatment or medical, nutrition or rehabilitation advice. Routines, weight progression, Gymy's comments, challenges and Encyclopedia articles are general guidance: they don't know your medical history.
2. Before you start
See a doctor before you start training or greatly increase intensity, especially if:
- You have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma or another chronic condition.
- You have an injury, recent surgery or pain that won't go away.
- You are pregnant or have recently given birth.
- You take medication that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or balance.
- You haven't exercised in a long time.
3. While you train
- Warm up, learn the technique with light weight and progress gradually.
- Stop immediately if you feel chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, palpitations or sharp joint pain, and seek medical care.
- Use equipment as the gym or manufacturer indicates and ask someone to spot you on heavy lifts.
- You decide how much weight you lift, how many reps you do and whether you do an exercise at all.
4. What you log about your body
Your weight, measurements, discomfort and daily log help you see your progress and let Gymy look after your workouts, for example by not suggesting more weight where you logged discomfort. They don't replace a medical check-up. If discomfort doesn't go away or gets worse, see a health professional.
5. Food, supplements and cycle
What you log about food, supplements or your menstrual cycle is only a record for you. Gymyos doesn't recommend diets, doses or supplements. Ask a doctor or dietitian before changing your diet or taking something new.
6. Trainers and gyms
If you train with a trainer or at a gym, they are responsible for the advice and facilities they give you. Gymyos is only the tool.
7. Emergencies
Gymyos doesn't handle emergencies. If you feel unwell, call your country's emergency number (911 in Mexico and the United States).
