Terms for trainers

These terms are the agreement between you and Gymyos for using the «Students» section as a trainer: linking with students, seeing what they allow, writing them notes and assigning them routines. You accept them when you enter the app or the panel as a trainer. The Gymyos Terms and Privacy Notice also still apply to you. If you don't agree, don't use the trainer section.

1. Gymyos doesn't charge you

Being a trainer on Gymyos costs you nothing. To link with you, your student needs a subscription that includes «Link a coach»; they pay that to Gymyos.

2. What you charge is between you and your student

What you charge your students, how and when, is agreed between you, outside Gymyos. Gymyos doesn't charge on your behalf, doesn't receive that money, doesn't take part in your arrangements and isn't responsible for payments, debts or refunds between you. You are responsible for your own obligations to the authorities for what you charge.

3. Gym trainer or independent

• Gym trainer: the gym gives you that role. From there you can only have students who are members of that gym. If you stop being a trainer there or your student stops being a member, the link is paused.
• Independent trainer: you have students on your own, without a gym. For that you need Gymyos to verify you.

You can be both; your students on each side are kept separate.

4. Verification for independents

• You request verification from the app with your full name, your official ID and your certifications or credentials (photo or PDF), and you accept the rules for using your students' data.
• A person at Gymyos reviews it and approves or rejects it. If it's rejected, you can correct it and send it again.
• Verification lasts the time Gymyos sets, currently 12 months. When it expires, your independent students are paused until you renew it.
• Your documents are stored encrypted and only you and Gymyos see them.
• Being verified doesn't mean Gymyos endorses your training or your methods: only that it reviewed your documents.
• You must tell the truth. False documents are grounds for withdrawing your verification.

5. How you link with a student

The student types your trainer code or accepts your invitation. Before linking they read a notice explaining what they'll share with you and that Gymyos doesn't take part in what you charge. Don't pressure them to give you permissions or to keep the link.

6. What you can see and do

The student chooses what to allow you, separately, and can change it at any time:

• See their workouts (on at the start).
• Assign them routines (on at the start).
• See their body: weight and measurements (off at the start).
• See their discomfort, what they note after a workout (off at the start).

You always see their name and email. If the student changes a permission, the change takes effect immediately. The link is paused, and you see nothing of the student except their name and the reason, when their subscription no longer includes a trainer, when they still need to accept a new version of the notice, when your verification isn't valid, or when your access to students is suspended.

7. Everything is on record

Every time you open a student's data, what you saw and when is logged, and your student sees it in «Who saw my data». Your student sees all your notes. If Gymyos detects an unusual number of lookups, it may limit and review them.

8. Use of your students' data

• Use their data only to train that student.
• Don't copy, download, keep outside Gymyos, share with others or publish it.
• Don't use it to offer them other products or services, or contact them for anything other than their training.
• Take special care with their weight, measurements and discomfort, which are health data.

This obligation continues after the link ends.

9. Your professional responsibility

You are responsible for the routines, advice and notes you give. Fit them to each student's condition and to what you're qualified to do. Gymyos is not a medical service, and you don't give medical advice through Gymyos either: if a student has an injury, an illness or pain, tell them to see a doctor. Gymyos checks the routines you assign against the student's equipment, but doesn't check whether they're right for them.

10. Reports and suspension

• Your student can report you, for example for an offensive note, for sharing or misusing their data, or for pressuring them to give you permissions. They can flag a specific note and we let you know.
• You have a deadline to give your side, set by Gymyos and currently 48 hours.
• It's reviewed by the Gymyos collaborator in charge, or by Gymyos if there's no collaborator. The reviewer sees what the student said, the reported note and what you looked at and when, but not their body data.
• They may dismiss the report, give you a warning, suspend your access to all your students for some days, or ask for your verification to be withdrawn. Gymyos decides the withdrawal.
• Gymyos may also suspend or close your account if you break these terms seriously or repeatedly.

11. When the link ends

Your student can remove your access whenever they want, and you can stop training them whenever you want with «Stop training them», on their page or in your paused students; we let them know. Either way you immediately stop seeing everything about that student and the routines you assigned stay with them, as theirs.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we'll publish the new version with its date and ask you to accept it when you sign in.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico.
