Gymyos uses the internet address of your visit to know, approximately, where it's being used from. This notice explains how.

1. What we do

When you visit the site or open the app, your browser sends us your internet address (IP), as with any web page. With it we look up the approximate country, state and city in a database.

2. What we store and what we don't

  • We don't store your internet address for this: it's used at that moment and forgotten.
  • We only add one visit to the approximate place (for example, «Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico») and the type of device, with nothing that says who you are.
  • It isn't your exact location: it can get the city wrong, especially on mobile data or private networks.

3. What for

To know in which countries and cities Gymyos is used, show you the site in your country and language, and decide where to open the gym network.

4. Where the place comes from

From DB-IP's free «IP to City Lite» database (db-ip.com), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. The database is on our server: we don't send your address to DB-IP or anyone else.

5. Something else: «Did you get to the gym?»

Your phone's exact location is only used if you turn on «Did you get to the gym?» and allow it in your browser, with its own notice. That's separate from what this document explains.

6. Security

The record of what you accept and of who looks at other people's data does store the internet address, as proof. The Privacy notice explains that.
